Role Description The Zeiss Calypso CMM Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Morgan Hill, Bay Area. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software to inspect machined parts against engineering drawings and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing CMM programs, performing dimensional inspections, analyzing measurement results, and documenting inspection reports for internal and customer use. The programmer will collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve dimensional issues, support root-cause investigations, and improve manufacturing processes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining CMM equipment, adhering to quality standards and safety procedures, and helping refine inspection workflows and best practices.

Qualifications

- Proficiency with gauges and other precision measurement tools, with the ability to select appropriate instruments for specific inspection tasks.
- Experience in quality control processes, including reviewing inspection results, identifying nonconformances, and supporting corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of dimensional measurements, GD&T, and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of calibration practices to ensure measurement equipment and CMM systems maintain accuracy and traceability.
- Hands-on inspection experience using CMMs and conventional inspection methods to validate part conformance.
- Demonstrated experience programming Zeiss CMMs with Calypso software or similar CMM programming tools.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work methodically in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams.
- Previous experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing setting is highly beneficial.
- Relevant technical training or education in metrology, manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
