Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Local Rate: $55–$68/hour
Travel Rate: $2,500–$2,840/week
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Housing: Facility Housing Available
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment with the possibility of extension. The pharmacist will be responsible for safely dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, providing medication counseling, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong retail/community pharmacy experience, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and safely in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies.
- Review prescriptions for appropriate drug selection, dosage, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and potential medication-related concerns.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and medication therapy.
- Verify and oversee prescription processing, including medication preparation, labeling, and final verification.
- Monitor medication therapy and identify opportunities to improve medication safety, effectiveness, and adherence.
- Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and applicable standards of practice.
- Manage controlled substances and other medications according to established procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to patient questions and concerns.
- Assist with medication inventory management, ordering, storage, and expiration-date monitoring.
- Participate in quality-improvement and medication-safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current and active Idaho Pharmacist License.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication safety, and applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong patient-care and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to work the required variable schedule and every-other-weekend rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail/community pharmacy experience.
- Experience with prescription dispensing and verification systems.
- Experience with medication inventory and controlled-substance management.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
