Job Summary
The IT Infrastructure Administrator is a hands-on technical operations role responsible for supporting and maintaining customer-facing services and the underlying infrastructure. This includes applications, servers, networking, and security components. The ideal candidate is a strong Unix/Linux and networking professional with experience supporting cloud-based microservices in a SaaS environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Administer, maintain, and support Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server operating systems.
• Support containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Portainer.
• Configure and maintain networking components, including NAT, VLANs, and Layer 3 routing protocols.
• Deploy and manage next-generation firewalls, web application firewalls (WAFs), and load balancers.
• Implement and maintain security frameworks, system hardening standards, patching, and compliance controls.
• Support infrastructure requirements for hosting public-facing services.
• Manage internal and external DNS records (A, CNAME, NS, MX), including DNSSEC.
• Administer email security technologies, including DMARC, DKIM, and SPF.
• Support web hosting platforms such as cPanel, Windows IIS, and WordPress Multisite.
• Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation.
• Review, prioritize, and resolve support requests and project tasks in an agile environment.
• Respond promptly to alerts, incidents, and service outages.
• Provide hands-on support within an ITIL-based service desk environment, including provisioning physical and virtual servers and network components.
• Participate in regulatory compliance audits (PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA) and penetration testing efforts, including remediation activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Key Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
• Strong initiative and a demonstrated desire to learn beyond current responsibilities.
• Experience in a SaaS, cloud, or web hosting environment (preferred).
• Background supporting remote and hybrid teams at scale (preferred).
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions in a continuous improvement environment.
• Shows progression in their career.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with urgency, ownership, and accountability.
Preferred Certifications
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
• CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Linux+
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Physical and Work Requirements
• Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
• May be required to work overtime or weekends with limited advance notice, as business needs dictate.
• Occasional travel may be required for certain assignments.
