Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is seeking a talented and motivated Restaurant Chef
to lead the culinary operations of our POM Restaurant. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation, managing costs, and developing a high-performing culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience leading a high-volume kitchen.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop culinary team members.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Monitor food, labor, and operating costs to meet financial objectives.
- Oversee inventory management, purchasing, receiving, and product storage.
- Assist with menu development, recipe creation, and special culinary offerings.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Create employee schedules and support a productive, team-oriented work environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Culinary degree, certification, or apprenticeship preferred.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, resort, or casino environment.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, menu development, food safety standards, inventory management, and cost controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
Work Environment
This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, kitchen equipment, sharp tools, and varying noise levels. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to perform bending, stooping, reaching, and other physical activities associated with kitchen operations.
