Residential Appliance Repair Technician
Sealed System Experience Strongly Preferred
$1,000–$2,200 per week (based on experience & performance)
Seeking a Residential Appliance Repair Technician who brings deep technical knowledge, confidence in complex diagnostics, and pride in doing the job right the first time. We are especially interested in candidates with hands-on sealed system experience — refrigerant recovery, evacuation, recharge, leak detection, and brazing — who can take on our most technical refrigeration and freezer calls. This role is ideal for a technician who wants autonomy and the chance to help elevate the entire team.

What You'll Do
Diagnose and repair complex residential appliance issues across major brands, including refrigerators, freezers, wine/beverage coolers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, and dryers
Perform sealed system diagnostics and repair, including compressor replacement, refrigerant recovery/evacuation/recharge, leak detection (nitrogen pressure testing and electronic detectors), and brazing of copper and aluminum lines
Deliver top-tier customer experiences with clarity and professionalism
Provide accurate cost estimates and clearly explain repair options to homeowners
Order parts, manage van inventory, and ensure efficient use of company materials
Collect payment and close out work orders accurately in SmartWare
Help improve training, processes, and first-time fix rates
What We're Looking For (Required)
5+ years of appliance repair or advanced technical experience
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire (required for any sealed system refrigerant work)
Strong diagnostic skills across multiple appliance categories, with demonstrated hands-on sealed system repair experience
Comfort reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals, and proficiency with a multimeter and standard refrigeration gauges/manifold sets
High standards for quality, safety, and customer service
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ownership of basic hand tools; Mr. Appliance provides specialty diagnostic equipment, refrigerant recovery machine access, and the company vehicle
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Must be able to lift or maneuver 50 pounds
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Strongly Preferred
Hands-on sealed system / refrigeration repair experience (2+ years) — this is our highest-priority hiring need
Formal refrigeration training or certification (e.g., RSES, NATE, HVAC/R trade school)
SmartWare experience
Experience servicing premium/luxury residential brands (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Dacor, or similar)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is always a plus

The pay range for this position is $1,000 to $2,200 weekly, depending on your experience in appliance repair — including a premium for verified sealed system skills. You'll also have the opportunity to earn bonuses and commissions.
