Snapshot / Role Overview
We're looking for a Mechanical Construction Project Manager in San Francisco to lead major HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal projects on high-rise, hotel, arena, airport, and school developments from preconstruction through closeout.
Impact
- Deliver large mechanical, boiler, and chiller installations safely, on schedule, and on budget.
- Protect margins through disciplined cost control and change orders.
- Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal cleanly on complex builds.
- Earn long-term client trust through consistent delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead major mechanical projects from award to final closeout.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and monthly cost reporting.
- Coordinate multi-trade sequencing across HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and piping.
- Oversee submittals, RFIs, and long-lead procurement.
- Direct subcontractors, project engineers, and superintendents.
- Track schedules in Primavera or Microsoft Project and resolve delays early.
- Manage change orders, contract compliance, and billing.
- Keep owners, architects, and general contractors informed.
Must-Haves
- Five to ten years of mechanical construction project management.
- Experience on large commercial or institutional projects.
- Command of scheduling, cost control, and change management.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
- Bay Area project experience.
