Job DescriptionWe are looking for a File Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Modesto, California through a Contract assignment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping records organized, handling documents with care, and providing dependable administrative support in a structured office setting. The position focuses on maintaining accurate filing systems, assisting staff with document retrieval, and ensuring records are processed efficiently and confidentially.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and organize both physical and digital records so documents remain easy to locate and up to date.
• Process incoming paperwork by sorting, labeling, and filing materials accurately within established recordkeeping systems.
• Locate and provide requested files, records, and archived materials to team members in a timely manner.
• Scan, copy, and upload documents into electronic databases while preserving accuracy and document quality.
• Review documents before filing to confirm they are complete, properly categorized, and ready for storage.
• Manage inactive records by preparing them for archive storage and following approved retention and disposal guidelines.
• Use office equipment such as scanners, copiers, and printers to support daily file management activities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of clerical, administrative, or office support experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple filing tasks efficiently.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling records and documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in an office environment.
• Experience with paper filing, scanning documents, e-filing, and handling file boxes is a plus.
