Position Summary
As a Cashier/Stock Associate, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked store. The ideal candidate is reliable, honest, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet every customer with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout each shift.
- Answer customer questions and resolve concerns courteously.
- Verify ID for age-restricted purchases.
Cashier Duties
- Operate the cash register accurately.
- Process cash, credit/debit, mobile payments, EBT, lottery, and other transactions as applicable.
- Count and balance the cash drawer.
- Follow all cash-handling and security procedures.
Stocking & Merchandising
- Restock shelves, coolers, and displays throughout the shift.
- Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO).
- Check expiration dates and remove outdated products.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries.
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays.
Store Cleanliness
- Keep the sales floor clean and organized.
- Clean counters, beverage stations, coffee area, and restrooms.
- Empty trash as needed.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Help maintain the parking lot and fuel island areas.
Food & Beverage
- Prepare fresh coffee and beverage stations.
- Restock hot food and grab-and-go items.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Safety
- Follow Chevron safety policies.
- Report maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow store security procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
