Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Endodontic Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide chairside support during endodontic procedures, ensure patient comfort, and help maintain the highest standards of infection control and clinical care. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Duties
- Assist the endodontist during root canal treatments, apicoectomies, and other endodontic procedures while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up procedure trays, and ensuring all equipment—including CBCT/3D imaging systems, digital X-ray units, and other dental technology—is fully operational.
- Obtain high-quality digital dental radiographs and intraoral images while following radiation safety guidelines, infection prevention protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Accurately document patient treatment, medical history, vital signs, and clinical notes using TDO practice management software (EMR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and safeguard sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA and office policies.
- Perform instrument sterilization and equipment processing while adhering to OSHA, CDC, and infection control standards.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment rooms throughout the day to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment.
- Assist with weekly office cleaning and maintenance tasks, including deep cleaning operatories, sterilization areas, and shared clinical spaces to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock treatment rooms, and ensure all clinical supplies are readily available for patient care.
- Educate patients on treatment procedures, post-operative instructions, and home care recommendations to support optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure an efficient workflow and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Experience
- Proven 2-3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a fast-paced clinical environment with a focus on endodontics or general dentistry.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as TDO software for accurate record keeping and patient management software tools.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy related to oral structures, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection control policies within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray units, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools confidently while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
