SEEKING BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS — FREMONT / NEWARK
Overview:
Healthy Minds ABA is seeking compassionate and dependable Behavior Technicians to provide individualized, in-home ABA services to children and families throughout Fremont, Newark, and nearby East Bay communities.
We currently have multiple staffing needs in the Fremont/Newark area, with many current opportunities taking place during weekday afternoon and after-school hours. Schedules vary by client.
This is an in-person, field-based position. Services are provided in clients’ homes throughout the area rather than at a central Healthy Minds office. This is not a remote position.
Current openings are primarily part-time. Additional hours may become available through compatible client assignments based on candidate availability, location, qualifications, and current client needs.
Spanish fluency is especially helpful for some current client assignments but is not required for all Fremont/Newark opportunities.
We welcome candidates with previous ABA experience as well as new graduates and professionals transitioning from behavioral health, education, childcare, caregiving, psychology, social services, or other related fields who are interested in building experience in ABA.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized 1:1 ABA support under the supervision of a BCBA and clinical team
- Implement treatment and behavior-support programs as directed
- Collect accurate session data and document client progress
- Support communication, social, daily-living, and other individualized goals
- Follow established treatment plans and clinical recommendations
- Collaborate with supervisors and families to support consistency and progress
- Maintain reliable attendance and professional communication
Experience / Qualifications:
- Experience working with children preferred
- Experience in ABA, behavioral health, caregiving, education, special education, childcare, psychology, social services, or another related field is valued
- Candidates transitioning into ABA are encouraged to apply
- Experience following structured treatment plans, documentation requirements, or individualized support plans is a plus
- Strong communication skills, reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn
- Ability to reliably travel to in-home client sessions throughout Fremont, Newark, and nearby areas
- Afternoon and after-school availability is especially valuable for several current cases
- RBT certification is welcomed but not required for every opening
- Spanish fluency is helpful for some client assignments but is not required for all opportunities
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time schedules may include one or multiple client assignments. Additional hours may become available as compatible cases open based on candidate availability, location, qualifications, and current client needs.
Pay: $23–$29 per hour
Starting pay is based on relevant experience, credentials, and the requirements of the assigned position or client.
What Healthy Minds Offers:
- Ongoing BCBA and clinical supervision
- Support from both clinical and administrative teams
- Thoughtful case matching based on location, availability, experience, and client needs
- Opportunities for additional case hours as compatible openings become available
- Mileage reimbursement between client sessions when applicable
- Paid sick leave in accordance with company policy
- HRA health reimbursement benefit for qualifying employees working 35+ hours per week after 90 days
- Annual compensation review
- Opportunities for continued professional growth within ABA
NEW GRADS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY!
Healthy Minds is a family-owned ABA agency dedicated to providing high-quality, ethical, and individualized services to children and families. We created this agency with the intention of putting the heart back into ABA, in a field where many large companies have lost sight of what ABA is truly meant to be.
We believe meaningful progress happens when therapists are supported, families are empowered, and care is delivered with integrity, compassion, and consistency. Our team values collaboration, strong relationships, and real clinical mentorship — not just productivity metrics.
At Healthy Minds, behavior therapists receive hands-on supervision, clear programming, and leadership that is responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in your growth. We prioritize realistic schedules, open communication, and a positive work environment where your work is valued and your impact is real.
Our therapists work directly with their clients while staying connected to a supportive clinical and administrative team.
If you’re looking for an agency that feels more like a community than a corporation, Healthy Minds is a place where you can grow, feel supported, and make a difference.
