Burger Bench (Escondido) is looking for a beertender. This person is responsible for serving beer and providing excellent customer service. This role involves taking orders, pouring beer accurately, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and ensuring a positive experience for guests. Beertenders also need to be knowledgeable about the beer menu and able to answer questions about the beers being served.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving Beer:
- Pouring beer accurately, following pouring guidelines, and serving guests in a timely manner.
- Customer Service:
- Greeting guests, taking orders, checking IDs, providing recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Bar Maintenance:
- Keeping the bar clean, organized, and stocked with supplies, including glassware, kegs, and other materials.
- Knowledgeable About Beer:
- Being familiar with the brewery's beer selection, brewing styles, and other beer-related knowledge.
- Responsible Alcohol Service:
- Following responsible alcohol service guidelines and policies.
- Cash Handling:
- Accurately handling cash transactions and processing payments using a point-of-sale (Square POS) system.
- Opening and Closing:
- Performing opening and closing duties, such as stocking supplies, cleaning, and preparing the bar for service.
- Other Duties:
- Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as bussing tables, and assisting with inventory.
Skills and Qualities:
- Customer Service Skills:
- Ability to be friendly, helpful, and create a positive experience for guests.
- Knowledge of Beer:
- Familiarity with different beer styles, brewing processes, and beer-related terminology.
- Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members.
- Responsibility and Integrity:
- Ability to follow policies and procedures, handle money responsibly, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry objects (e.g., kegs), and perform physical tasks associated with bar duties.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure:
- Ability to handle a busy environment, multi-task, and maintain composure under pressure.
