A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Lompoc, CA, supporting a healthcare facility that provides pharmacy services for 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds. This role requires a dedicated pharmacist to ensure safe and effective medication use within a hospital setting.

Schedule:

  • Variable days/afternoons
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and compliance
  • Consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies and patient care
  • Utilize pharmacokinetic principles to optimize drug dosing
  • Adapt quickly to the facility’s IT system, Altera Sunrise (training provided)

Qualifications:

  • Current California pharmacist license
  • Experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment preferred
  • Ability to manage a dynamic workload and collaborate effectively with clinical teams

This position offers the chance to gain experience using a less common pharmacy IT system with provided training. The assignment requires an ASAP start and has a minimum duration of 26 weeks, ideal for pharmacists interested in flexible travel opportunities.
