This opportunity offers the chance to work on advanced embedded computing platforms and mission-critical systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams supporting complex customer programs.
Overview
The Project Systems Engineer serves as the technical lead for embedded computing system projects from proposal handoff through engineering execution, production readiness, and customer integration. This role is critical in ensuring customer requirements are transformed into executable system designs while coordinating technical activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management teams.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Systems Engineer with a strong background in embedded computing, systems engineering, and technical project leadership. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in rugged computing platforms, open systems architectures, and cross-functional project execution while serving as a key technical interface between customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Lead assigned system development projects from proposal transition through engineering execution, delivery, and customer integration.
Translate customer requirements, statements of work, and architectural concepts into documented system designs and implementation plans.
Partner with embedded computer architects to develop technical solutions that align with customer objectives and program requirements.
Develop and maintain system documentation including requirements matrices, architecture descriptions, configuration definitions, interface documentation, and engineering review materials.
Coordinate project execution activities across hardware, software, mechanical, systems engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, and program management teams.
Manage project scope, schedules, risks, deliverables, dependencies, and technical action items throughout the development lifecycle.
Evaluate sourcing strategies, supplier capabilities, lead times, material availability, and procurement risks.
Ensure system solutions align with manufacturing capabilities and support efficient production, testing, and delivery processes.
Translate technical requirements into engineering work packages, task assignments, milestones, and execution plans.
Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Oversee delivery readiness activities including configuration management, documentation completion, production handoff, testing readiness, and acceptance criteria validation.
Support customer platform integration efforts by resolving interface issues, technical questions, installation considerations, and integration challenges.
Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, resource, and cost risks while driving timely issue resolution.
Support internal and customer reviews including architecture reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), production readiness reviews, and integration reviews.
Maintain accurate project records, technical decisions, meeting documentation, commitments, and status reports.
Monitor project progress and provide timely updates regarding engineering execution, manufacturing readiness, delivery milestones, and integration activities.
Support additional engineering and project-related initiatives as assigned.
