Dyssonance is a research lab working on what comes after LLMs.

\n


\n

Large language models have transformed what machines can do with language. But language is not thought and generating an answer is not the same thing as reasoning about the world.

\n

We’re building systems designed to reason continuously under uncertainty: to form and revise beliefs, build internal models of the world, and maintain coherent thought over time.

\n


\n

We call the resulting technology Cognitive Infrastructure. Much of our underlying architecture remains in stealth, but our ambition is simple: understand the foundations of thought well enough to build them.

\n


\n

We’re a small, highly technical team with backgrounds spanning DeepMind, Google, Apple, and other leading AI and technology organizations.

\n


The Role\n
\n

We’re looking for an early-career Research-Driven Product Engineer who loves building.

\n


\n

You’ll sit directly between research and product: understand new capabilities as they emerge from our research, figure out what they make possible, and turn them into working prototypes and products.

\n

Often, the starting point won’t be a product spec. It’ll be a new capability and a question:

What can we build now that wasn’t possible before?

\n

Your job is to actually build it.

What You’ll Do\n
\n

  • Turn research breakthroughs into working prototypes and products
  • \n

  • Explore new applications of Dyssonance’s Cognitive Infrastructure
  • \n

  • Build end-to-end across AI systems, backend, frontend, and APIs
  • \n

  • Create intuitive interfaces for complex reasoning capabilities
  • \n

  • Put prototypes in front of users and iterate quickly
  • \n

  • Work directly with research, engineering, product, and the founders
  • \n

Who You Are\n
\n

    \n
  • You’re early in your career and have a strong technical foundation in CS, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related field
  • \n

  • You love building and learn new technologies quickly
  • \n

  • You can understand unfamiliar technical ideas well enough to build with them
  • \n

  • You enjoy hackathons, side projects, open source, or turning interesting ideas into prototypes
  • \n

  • You’re comfortable with Python and modern web development
  • \n

  • You’ve experimented with AI agents, model APIs, or other modern AI systems
  • \n

  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and high ownership
  • \n
