Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:


• Assist in overseeing all maintenance operations, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs

• Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians to ensure high performance and safety compliance

• Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and support production goals

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related issues

• Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment efficiency and reliability

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and compliance documentation

• Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA and company policies

• Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies

• Assist in budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations

• Proactively identify potential issues in manpower, equipment, and documentation, and implement corrective or preventive actions.

• Responsible for preparing and ensuring complete documentation of all work plans and improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• 1–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial equipment

• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Strong communication and leadership abilities

• Must possess planning, execution, analytical, and continuous improvement capabilities, and be proficient in Microsoft Office for report preparation and documentation.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace, automotive, electronics, PCB)

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Exposure

Employees are required to wear a respirator when performing certain duties in accordance with the Company’s Respirator program.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; explosives; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
