Certified Pharmacy Technician – Part-Time Patient Support
Location Fresno, CA | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
• Up to $20.53/hour (BOE)
• Part-time; flexible shifts may include evenings, weekends, or holidays
• W2 employment
• Start date: ASAP
Role Impact
This role is designed for a licensed Pharmacy Technician seeking part-time hours while applying their clinical knowledge in a patient-facing support capacity. You will serve as a trusted resource for patients and pharmacy partners, helping resolve prescription benefit issues, clarify coverage details, and support prior authorization workflows. Your pharmacy expertise will directly impact medication access, accuracy of claims processing, and overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to inbound inquiries from patients, pharmacies, and partners, ensuring compliance with privacy standards and release-of-information guidelines
• Troubleshoot pharmacy claim rejections and submission errors; document all cases within the ticketing system
• Support prior authorization–related requests and provide clear guidance on required documentation and next steps
• Review and explain pharmacy benefit plans (PBM – Pharmacy Benefit Management), including eligibility, coverage limits, and cost-share details
• Escalate complex or clinical concerns to the appropriate internal teams for resolution
• Deliver OMNI channel support across phone, email, and chat platforms
• Participate in rotating after-hours coverage as scheduled
Minimum Qualifications
• Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification in good standing in at least one state (required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of pharmacy, healthcare, or patient support experience
Core Tools & Systems
• Pharmacy claims processing systems
• Case management or ticketing platforms
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
• Multi-channel communication tools (phone, email, chat)
Preferred Skills
• Experience within PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) or managed care environments
• Background in high-volume patient support or call center operations
• Strong multitasking skills in fast-paced healthcare settings
This position is primarily sedentary and involves extended computer use. Employees regularly operate a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment such as telephones, printers, and copiers. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required.
