Job DescriptionOcean Freight Import Specialist
Location: Long Beach
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Pay: $24–$26/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Import Specialist to manage and coordinate ocean import shipments from booking through delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ocean import shipments and follow up on bookings, ETAs, arrival notices, and cargo availability.
- Communicate with customers, carriers, truckers, terminals, customs brokers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Monitor customs clearance, exams, container status, and cargo release.
- Review and maintain accurate shipment documentation and system data.
- Resolve shipment issues and assist customers with tracking and inquiries.
- Obtain and enter vendor costs and process customer invoices.
Requirements:
- 1 year ocean import (freight forwarding) experience for LA/Long Beach ports
- Proficient in Microsoft office tools
- Excellent organizational ability
