Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Associate Attorney to join a growing litigation practice in California. This opportunity is well suited for a licensed attorney who brings hands-on experience managing insurance defense matters and enjoys working across a broad range of civil disputes. The role offers meaningful responsibility in case development, client advocacy, and courtroom preparation while collaborating within a multi-office law firm environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage insurance defense litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution.
• Prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings with strong attention to detail and persuasive written advocacy.
• Conduct written discovery, review case documents, and develop strategies based on factual and legal analysis.
• Take and defend depositions while working closely with clients, witnesses, and expert partners.
• Handle matters involving personal injury, construction disputes, business conflicts, premises liability, negligence, transportation claims, product liability, and real estate-related litigation.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other litigation proceedings as needed.
• Support trial preparation activities, including organizing evidence, developing case themes, and coordinating with litigation teams.
• Communicate regularly with clients and internal stakeholders regarding case status, risk evaluation, and recommended next steps.• Active attorney license in good standing.
• At least 2 years of civil litigation experience, with insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents independently.
• Practical experience managing discovery, including written discovery and document review.
• Background handling depositions and participating in contested litigation matters.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: personal injury, construction litigation, business litigation, premises liability, negligence matters requiring strong attention to detail, transportation, products liability, or real estate disputes.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Trial exposure is valued, though it is not required.
