We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Administrator to oversee payroll operations and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees, entering and reconciling payroll data, and managing benefits, tax withholdings, and expense reimbursements. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll data discrepancies and enter benefits, tax withholdings, and reimbursement data accurately.
  • Review and process expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Excel and typing skills to manage payroll data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and results orientation in all interactions.

Essential Skills

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, Excel, and 10-Key typing at 35 WPM.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build respectful and collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll processing within a non-profit or union environment is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment.
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of integrity and accountability.

Work Environment

The role is situated in cubicles within an open concept office alongside a team of four payroll professionals. The standard workweek is 35 hours, with 7-hour workdays. Upon transitioning to a permanent role, employees enjoy excellent benefits, including medical, dental, 401K, and pension plans. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.39 - $33.39/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
