Duration: 3-Month Assignment
Schedule: Full-Time
Industry: Technology

About the Opportunity
Are you building your career in Human Resources and looking for an opportunity to gain broader, hands-on experience within a fast-paced technology environment?
We are seeking a proactive, resourceful, and highly organized HR Coordinator to join the HR team of a leading technology company for a 3-month W-2 assignment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with approximately 2–3 years of experience who has developed a solid foundation in HR operations and is ready to expand their exposure across the employee lifecycle.
You’ll support a distributed HR team while serving as an important onsite HR presence for the Carlsbad office. The right person doesn't need to know everything on day one—but they should be curious, dependable, comfortable asking questions, and confident figuring out how to get things done.
What You’ll Do
- Support day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding and prepare related paperwork, documentation, and materials
- Support employee offboarding and ensure required documentation and processes are completed
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, and other HR documentation
- Process employee changes involving job, manager, compensation, location, and employment status
- Audit HR data and records for accuracy and completeness
- Serve as an approachable onsite HR resource for employees in the Carlsbad office
- Respond to routine employee questions and connect employees with the appropriate HR team member when additional support is needed
- Provide administrative support for benefits and leave-related processes and documentation
- Assist with recruiting coordination as needed, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, offer documentation, background checks, and pre-employment activities
- Support HR compliance, reporting, documentation, and administrative needs
- Partner with HR, IT, Facilities, and other internal teams to help resolve employee needs and keep processes moving
- Assist with HR programs, projects, and process-improvement initiatives
- Provide additional HR operational support as priorities evolve
What You Bring
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, HR Coordination, or a related area
- Experience supporting onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Experience working with an HRIS; Workday experience is a plus but not required
- Strong HR operations and administrative skills
- Some exposure to employee relations and California HR practices is helpful
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive employee information
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-moving environment
- Strong follow-through and a willingness to take ownership
- Ability to work independently while partnering closely with a distributed HR team
- Ability to work onsite in Carlsbad approximately 2 days per week, including Wednesdays
What Will Make You Successful
- Resourceful – You take initiative, look for answers, and know when to ask for help.
- Curious – You're comfortable asking questions and learning new tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Proactive – You don't always wait to be told what to do next.
- Mature and dependable – You communicate professionally, follow through on commitments, and can be trusted with sensitive information.
- Adaptable – You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
- Relationship-oriented – You make an effort to get to know employees and build relationships with HR, IT, Facilities, and other partners.
- Confident asking questions – You're willing to reach out, find the right person, and keep things moving.
- Calm and approachable – You bring a steady, positive presence and make employees feel comfortable coming to HR.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
· This is a great opportunity to gain meaningful HR experience with a top technology company while working alongside an experienced HR team.
· You'll gain exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources rather than being limited to one administrative function. You'll also have the opportunity to become a visible and trusted HR presence within the Carlsbad office, build relationships across the organization, and learn how HR operates within a dynamic technology environment.
· Technology industry experience is a plus, but not required. We're equally interested in candidates from other fast-paced environments who bring transferable HR experience, strong judgment, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly. The hiring manager specifically indicated openness to transferable backgrounds rather than limiting the search exclusively to technology candidates.
If you're serious about growing your HR career, have a great head on your shoulders, and are looking for an opportunity where you can contribute while continuing to learn, we'd love to hear from you.
