Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Salary: $165,000–$193,440 annually
Work Setting: Outpatient Oncology
Travel: Local travel may be required
Guide Patients Through Every Step of Their Care
Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Clinical Oncology Nurse to support patients and families throughout the breast cancer care journey. This position combines clinical nursing, patient education, care coordination, and compassionate advocacy within a collaborative outpatient environment.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a primary clinical resource for patients and families.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Perform nursing assessments during in-person and telehealth visits.
- Provide telephone triage and clinical guidance within the RN scope of practice.
- Educate patients about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, side effects, and available resources.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Identify barriers to care and connect patients with appropriate support services.
- Track patient progress and maintain accurate electronic health records.
- Support survivorship planning, patient advocacy, and shared decision-making.
- Participate in quality-improvement and patient-experience initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Current California Registered Nurse license
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred
- At least two years of progressively responsible RN experience
- Ambulatory, outpatient, oncology, or infusion experience strongly preferred
- Strong triage, assessment, patient-education, and care-coordination skills
- Knowledge of oncology treatments, medications, and side-effect management
- Experience using Epic or a similar electronic health record system preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse or nurse navigator certification preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate and culturally responsive care
Professional DevelopmentThe selected nurse should be committed to continued growth in oncology and breast patient navigation. Depending on eligibility and existing credentials, the position may require:
- OCN, CBCN, or an approved oncology navigation certification
- Completion of an oncology navigation education program
- Ongoing continuing education in evidence-based breast oncology care
