Staff Mechanical Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field

\n

• Must have managed and led projects with client facing duties

\n

• 8-10 years of relevant mechanical design experience

\n

• SolidWorks with expert-level proficiency

\n

• Hands-On with deep understanding of DFM, tolerance analysis, FMEA, and verification & validation

\n

• Experience managing vendors, manufacturing partners, and small teams

\n

• Strong communication skills

\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead full product development cycles from concept through production — including CAD, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing handoff

\n

• Design complex parts and assemblies in SolidWorks using master modeling, surfacing, plastics, sheet metal, and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards

\n

• Write and execute test protocols, analyze results, and integrate electronics, firmware, software, and UX requirements into mechanical designs

\n

• Own project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships — managing orders, manufacturing partners, and production capability

\n

• Manage and mentor a team of 2-10 people including employees, interns, vendors, and client staff

\n

• Lead client communication, write quotes and proposals, and deliver projects across multiple concurrent engagements
