Location: San Francisco, CA (5 days onsite)

We are exclusively partnered with a venture-backed engineering company developing next-generation power generation technology.

\n


\n

As the company scales, they’re looking for a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to own high-voltage DC power electronics and motor/generator integration from specification through prototype and testing. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to build out the power electronics function as the company grows.

Responsibilities 🔨

\n

    \n
  • Own the high-voltage DC power electronics architecture and development.
  • \n

  • Specify and integrate the motor/generator, power electronics and controls.
  • \n

  • Take hardware from design and specification through prototype, integration and testing.
  • \n

  • Evaluate suppliers and components and make key buy-vs-build decisions.
  • \n

  • Personally build, wire, integrate and troubleshoot hardware.
  • \n

  • Help bring currently outsourced engineering capabilities in-house.
  • \n

Qualifications 📑

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • \n

  • 4+ years of power electronics experience.
  • \n

  • Strong high-voltage DC power electronics experience.
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience with motors, generators or electric machines.
  • \n

  • Experience with SiC and/or GaN MOSFETs / wide-bandgap semiconductors.
  • \n

  • Experience physically building, wiring, integrating and testing hardware.
  • \n

  • Experience taking power electronics systems through to a working prototype.
  • \n

  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving engineering environment.
  • \n

  • EV powertrain/drivetrain or power electronics experience.
  • \n

  • Formula E, electric motorsport or high-performance electric motor experience.
  • \n

  • Electric machine design experience.
  • \n

  • Control systems or embedded software experience.
  • \n

  • DC fast-charging experience.
  • \n
