Private Chef | Peninsula/South Bay | Up to $200,000

Our client is seeking an exceptional Private Chef to oversee culinary needs across multiple Bay Area residences. The ideal candidate will have a strong specialization in Chinese cuisine, Michelin-level restaurant experience, and a proven history of longevity and stability in previous culinary roles. This is an opportunity for an accomplished chef who takes pride in exceptional food, consistency, discretion, and delivering a high level of service in a private household environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare exceptional daily meals with a strong emphasis on Chinese cuisine.
  • Develop customized and seasonal menus based on the family’s preferences and schedule.
  • Bring Michelin-level culinary techniques, presentation, and attention to detail to the family’s dining experience.
  • Source and purchase high-quality ingredients, including specialty Chinese and Asian ingredients as needed.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and ensure all ingredients and supplies are fresh, properly stocked, and organized.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
  • Coordinate meal preparation and service across the family’s multiple residences.
  • Accommodate changing family schedules, preferences, and dietary needs.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and well-run kitchen environment.
  • Exercise complete discretion and confidentiality while working in the family’s private homes.


Food Style

  • Organic ingredients only, with a strong preference for farmers market and farm-to-table sourcing.
  • Cuisine should include Mediterranean, Asian/Chinese, and California farm-to-table influences.
  • Meals should be tasty yet simple, with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality, protein-forward ingredients.
  • Grass-fed and grass-finished meats are required, including chicken, beef, pork, and duck.
  • Non-farmed and low-mercury fish are preferred.
  • Regenerative organic produce is preferred.
  • Meals should be mostly, but not always, gluten-free.
  • Ability to prepare kid-friendly options based on the family’s preferences and needs.
  • Specific food preferences for Echo will be provided to the selected candidate.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive professional culinary experience with a strong specialization in Chinese cuisine.
  • Michelin-starred or Michelin-level restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of longevity and stability in previous chef positions is essential.
  • Experience in a private household, luxury hospitality, fine dining, or similarly high-touch environment preferred.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a refined understanding of flavor, technique, presentation, and high-quality ingredients.
  • Ability to create elevated meals while adapting to the family’s individual preferences.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Flexible and service-oriented, with the ability to adapt to a variable schedule and changing family needs.
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the culinary program.

Schedule & Location

Schedule varies based on the family’s needs and may include different service days and meal times from week to week.

The role will support the family across multiple Bay Area residences (Peninsula/South Bay)

Compensation & Benefits

Initial 1099 trial period, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.

Target compensation up to the $200,000 range upon full-time hire, depending on experience and culinary background.
