Job Description

Front Desk Coordinator – Medical Office (Temp-to-Permanent)

LA Integrative Gastroenterology and Nutrition

LA Integrative GI is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator to support two physicians — a traditional gastroenterologist and an integrative GI specialist. This is a temp-to-permanent position with a fixed schedule of 4 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Technical Skills Are a Must

This role requires strong, hands-on technical ability. Candidates should be highly proficient in:

  • EHR and scheduling software daily, active use
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Dropbox navigation and cloud file organization
  • Office equipment: scanning, faxing, copying
  • Fast, confident troubleshooting when technology or scheduling doesn't go as planned

If you're not comfortable navigating multiple software systems at once in a fast-paced setting, this role isn't the right fit.

Work Environment

LA Integrative GI is small but mighty. On some days or afternoons, it's just you and one of our physicians running the office — so we need someone who can be the eyes and ears of the front office: noticing what needs attention and handling it, without needing a team around them to do it.

What You'll Do

  • Greet and check in patients, creating a warm, professional first impression
  • Check out patients and collect payments (copays, balances)
  • Take basic patient measurements (weight and blood pressure only)
  • Schedule appointments and troubleshoot scheduling issues as they come up
  • Scan, fax, copy, and organize documents
  • Navigate EHR and scheduling software daily
  • Manage files and documents using Microsoft Office and Dropbox
  • Serve as the eyes and ears of the front office, especially during periods of solo coverage

What We're Looking For

  • Required: Prior medical front office experience
  • Required: Strong technical skills
  • Strong common sense, reliability, and ability to multitask in a busy/quiet medical office
  • Professional, friendly, patient-focused demeanor

Details

  • Schedule: 4 fixed days per week, 8 hours per day
  • Employment Type: Temp-to-Permanent
  • Pay: DOE (Depends on Experience)
