A 50-bed rehabilitation hospital in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in a dynamic, hands-on role. This position requires a dedicated professional ready to lead pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent patient care.

This is a contract opportunity for 13 weeks with the potential to transition to a permanent role. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts, with shared on-call responsibilities alongside PRN pharmacists for after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the working Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), overseeing all pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently for inpatient rehabilitation patients
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize pharmacotherapy and patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the pharmacy meets hospital standards and safety protocols
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide critical pharmacy support after hours

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active California Pharmacist license
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a rehab or acute care setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability and willingness to assume PIC responsibilities
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
