We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our senior living facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each resident, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report findings to nursing staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on residents' needs.
- Provide support and assistance in daily living activities as needed, including personal hygiene and mobility.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents with dementia or developmental disabilities.
- Stay informed about changes in medication protocols, policies, and best practices within the healthcare field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician for at least 6 months is preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in senior care or home care environments, is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and documentation practices is essential.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia is highly desirable.
- Understanding of medical records management and adherence to HIPAA regulations is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.
