Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

  • Acute care hospital setting within a combined PT/OT/ST department
  • \n

  • 189-bed facility including ICU, telemetry, medical, surgical, and mother/baby units
  • \n

  • Average hospital census of 150 patients
  • \n

  • Patient population includes adult and geriatric inpatients with orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary conditions
  • \n

  • Outpatient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric patients
  • \n

  • 10-hour shifts scheduled Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30am to 7:00pm
  • \n

  • Floating required to inpatient acute hospital units
  • \n

  • Uses Cerner (upgraded version) for charting
  • \n

  • Works alongside a lead inpatient therapist, therapy supervisor, and Director of Rehab Services
  • \n

  • Department includes PT, OT, ST, and therapy aide staff across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
  • \n

  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • \n

  • Active state or compact PT license required if applicable
  • \n

  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • \n

  • Must be able to work 10-hour shifts including weekend rotations
  • \n

  • Driver's license copy required for consideration
  • \n

  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
  • \n

  • General department orientation provided with skills checklist and assigned clinician
  • \n

  • Facility holds JCAHO Stroke certification (NIH certified) and TJP certification for elective hip and knee procedures
  • \n

  • Participates in early mobility program including ventilated patients
  • \n

  • No holiday coverage required for this position
  • \n

  • Scrub requirement: burgundy polo or long sleeve shirt with black pants and shoes
  • \n

  • Located near Yosemite, Monterey Bay, San Francisco, and the Sierra Nevada range
  • \n

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this role
