Johnson Service Group is looking for a Debug Technician for their client in San Jose. This person will perform PCBA failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair support.
Pay Range: $25 - $35/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot defective PCBAs using schematics and bench test equipment.
- Identify failures to the component level and provide rework instructions.
- Document failures, repairs, and rework activity in the database.
- Perform post-rework inspections to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Identify and communicate recurring defect and failure trends to Test Engineering.
- Perform PCBA, subsystem, and system-level testing as needed.
Qualifications:
- AA/Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on product testing and PCBA debug experience, preferably in contract manufacturing.
- Strong component-level troubleshooting skills; this is not a board-swap position.
- Experience with analog and digital circuitry and highly integrated electronics.
- Proficient with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and standard bench test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with LabVIEW, Python/Linux, Visual Basic, ISO/Lean, or root cause analysis is a plus.
