Direct Hire We are actively seeking a Traffic Estimator to join a growing infrastructure and specialty construction organization. In this highly visible role, you will help drive project success by developing accurate, competitive estimates for traffic and construction-related work. You'll collaborate closely with project leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and clients while contributing to projects that support vital public and private infrastructure. What You'll Be Responsible For
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine complete project requirements.
- Create detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analyses using historical data, market conditions, and industry benchmarks.
- Solicit, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to support competitive bid strategies.
- Partner with project leadership to prepare proposals, bid submissions, and RFP responses.
- Maintain organized estimating records, documentation, and supporting bid materials.
- Attend pre-bid activities and support planning efforts related to scheduling and project execution.
- Provide updated estimate information throughout the project lifecycle as scope changes occur.
- Build productive relationships with clients, vendors, purchasing teams, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify potential project risks and opportunities that may impact cost, schedule, or resource planning.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in traffic estimating, construction estimating, electrical construction, telecommunications construction, or a related field.
- Strong ability to interpret plans, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
- Experience preparing takeoffs, cost models, proposals, and bid packages.
- Knowledge of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing methodologies.
- Proficiency with estimating software and project documentation systems.
- Effective negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of relevant education and industry experience.
- Ability to work extensively with computers and estimating platforms.
- Capability to conduct field visits and navigate active project sites.
- Visual capability to review plans, diagrams, maps, and technical project information.
