Job DescriptionCNC Machinist What does this job do?

A CNC Machine Specialist sets up, programs, and runs advanced CNC machines that cut and shape materials into precise parts. They make sure parts are made correctly, solve machine problems, and help train newer machinists.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and run CNC machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis).
  • Make precision parts from materials like carbon fiber and fiberglass.
  • Create or edit machine programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Choose the right tools and machine settings.
  • Measure parts to make sure they meet exact specifications.
  • Inspect parts during and after production for quality.
  • Troubleshoot machine and production issues.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and help keep equipment running smoothly.
  • Track production data using Excel and other computer programs.
  • Train and mentor less experienced machinists.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all quality and safety procedures.

What Skills You Need

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Strong experience setting up and running CNC machines.
  • Ability to create or modify CNC programs.
  • Good understanding of blueprints and measurements.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Experience with quality inspections and documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
  • Experience working with carbon fiber and fiberglass.
  • Familiarity with Excel and Access databases.
  • Experience training other machinists.
  • Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for most of the shift.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Be willing to work overtime or weekends when needed.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Sunday-Thursday
  • 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Night Shift)
  • Training may start on a day or swing shift before moving to nights.
  • Work in a machine shop around CNC machines and manufacturing equipment.
  • Fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $104000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
