Job DescriptionFacilities Maintenance Technician / Building Engineer
Aerotek is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician / Building Engineer to support a large healthcare facility.
We are looking for a well-rounded maintenance professional with experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, carpentry, mechanical repair, or building maintenance. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment throughout the facility.
Candidates do not need to come directly from a healthcare environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience are highly valued.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
- Inspect building systems and equipment to identify needed repairs
- Perform carpentry, drywall, painting, door, lock, and general building repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs
- Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment and air handlers
- Assist with maintenance of steam and mechanical systems
- Respond to maintenance requests and equipment issues
- Use hand and power tools to complete repairs and installations
- Identify materials and parts needed to complete repairs
- Document completed maintenance and repairs
- Follow all facility safety procedures and maintenance standards
The underlying Mercy role includes building and equipment inspections, carpentry and general facility repairs, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC/air-handler maintenance, steam systems, preventative maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
Preferred Experience
- Facilities or industrial maintenance experience
- Carpentry and general construction repair

- Basic electrical knowledge
- Basic plumbing knowledge
- HVAC or air handler experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience working within a commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or healthcare facility
- High school diploma or GED

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Merced, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
