Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for neonates or an assigned patient group in line with established standards, the nursing process, and patient safety protocols.
- Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels, ensuring proper delegation and supervision.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines; communicate changes in patient status promptly.
- Apply critical thinking and professional judgment to monitor, assess, and respond to neonate conditions requiring intensive monitoring and intervention.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes; participate in rounds as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Ensure infection control, medication administration accuracy, and adherence to NICU policies and procedures.
- Support family-centered care, including education and discharge planning as appropriate to patient condition.
Requirements
- Active RN license (California) as applicable to the assignment
- Relevant NICU nursing experience as required by the job notes
- Certification requirements and education details specified in the job notes
- Ability to work in a hospital NICU setting, including night-shift schedules
