Job DescriptionFarley's East has been a neighborhood fixture for 17 years. We are a family-run, local small business that serves high-quality panini, salads, soups, and breakfast, handmade from scratch using local and seasonal ingredients. We take pride in creating a work environment that focuses on the dignity and skill of our cooks.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced environment, can communicate and problem-solve effectively, and is passionate about great food. We offer health insurance options, flexible scheduling, one-on-one training and learning, and opportunity for advancement within Farley's.
- THE CANDIDATE MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS.
- Position includes hourly wage, plus tips.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two-years experience in a quality-driven, high-volume restaurant
- Basic knife skills
- Food safety knowledge and current CA Food Handler’s Card
- Ability to take direction well
- Professional demeanor under pressure
- Strong ability to communicate with others
- Attention to detail
- Sense of urgency and discipline
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must be comfortable in close quarters
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of each menu item and food preparation techniques
- The ability to taste and describe menu items to customers
- Work in community with your fellow cooks and baristas
- Great attention to detail and ability to closely follow direction
- Execute proper plate presentation and garnishes for soups and salads
- Know and adhere to Farley’s standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and procedures
- Ability to adopt the Clean-As-You-Go mindset
- Maintaining a clean station according to Food Safety and Farley's standard
- Interest in finding an organization where there is the opportunity for growth
- Customer service excellence with ability to be in relationship with the customers who are our neighbors
