Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff
Ability to assess students’ adaptive and educational needs and document progress accurately

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
Evaluate students’ functional vision and learning media requirements
Develop and adapt individualized educational plans (IEPs) and instructional materials
Teach Braille, low vision strategies, and the use of assistive technology
Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusion and academic success
Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations based on students’ needs
