Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Consultant

San Francisco Bay Area | Full-Time | Flexible/Hybrid Schedule

Occupational Services, Inc. (OSI) is seeking a full-time Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant to support clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is ideal for a knowledgeable, service-oriented EHS professional who enjoys working with a variety of organizations and helping clients develop practical, effective compliance solutions.

The successful candidate will have at least three years of health and safety experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.

Salary Range: $85,000–$125,000 per year. Starting compensation will be based on relevant education, EHS consulting experience, technical qualifications, and the ability to independently manage client assignments.

Position Responsibilities

The EHS Consultant will provide on-site and remote consulting support in the following areas:

  • Serve as an EHS resource for client facilities
  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain written safety programs
  • Conduct workplace health and safety inspections and compliance audits
  • Identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions
  • Prepare and deliver employee safety training
  • Assist clients with regulatory permits, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Support clients during inspections by city, county, state, and other regulatory agencies
  • Track regulatory findings and assist with corrective-action follow-up
  • Provide guidance on hazardous materials and hazardous waste management
  • Oversee the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and biohazardous waste
  • Research and interpret applicable Cal/OSHA, environmental, fire code, and other regulatory requirements
  • Prepare professional reports, procedures, training materials, and client correspondence
  • Perform additional EHS consulting services based on client needs

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional EHS, occupational safety, environmental compliance, or industrial hygiene experience and/or a relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and regulatory personnel
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with OSI consultants and client teams
  • Professional, dependable, and client-service-oriented approach
  • Ability to travel to client locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area

Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory, healthcare, research, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
